“Let Slip the Dogs of War!”

Now back on Earth, after their involvement in the Kree-Skrull war, the Avengers begin their next order of business: locating the missing Avenger, Goliath.

However, this search is preempted when the Avengers hear news of a group calling themselves the Warhawks (led by “Mr. Talon”) who have been responsible for a riot where all involved seem to be compelled to act out violent behavior.

Investigating the riot themselves, the Avengers soon find themselves the victims of the violence, which is being caused by Mr. Talon’s pan-flute-playing minions. It is not until Thor arrives that it’s revealed that “Mr. Talon” is actually Ares, the Greek god of war. With the help of the Avengers, the pan-flute-playing minions (real satyrs from Olympus) are taken out and everybody resumes back to normal, and Ares escapes.

When wondering about an arrow that was shot that aided in the defeat of their mission, they soon find it was shot by their missing comrade, who has taken on the role of Hawkeye once more. Hawkeye has also brought along with him an amnesiac Hercules, who is preaching the coming of impending doom.
