This is one of the few early Kang the Conqueror cover appearances within the Avengers title, and he appears with the Growing Man to battle The Avengers in this October, 1969 issue. Avengers #69 also features the 1st appearance of the Squadron Sinister, one of the team’s lethal opponents introduced in the early Bronze Age.
