Ant-Man, a founding member of the Avengers, makes his second-ever appearance and his very first in his distinctive super-hero costume in this 1962 issue. Really, it is the issue where Hank Pym, Ant-Man becomes a super-hero integrated into the MCU. Though highly significant because it was the first appearance issue, the theme of #27 was more reflective of the pre-hero Marvel genre.
