A striking example of 1950s Pre-Code Horror, Adventures Into Darkness #9 was published by Standard Comics in April 1953 and features one of the title's memorable supernatural horror covers.

This issue contains work from an impressive group of Golden Age artists, including Alex Toth, Nick Cardy, Rafael Astarita and Mike Sekowsky. Of particular note is the Alex Toth story “The Hands of Don José,” which has subsequently been reprinted in collections devoted to Toth's work.

The offered copy is graded CGC 5.0 Very Good/Fine with particularly desirable Off-White to White Pages. Pre-Code Horror continues to have a strong collector following, and attractive mid-grade certified examples such as this make excellent display pieces.
